David T. DuFault – Attorney

“Estate planning for the ART client can present a unique set of challenges.  In addition to the providing a legacy for a surviving spouse, partner or child, and making sure an appropriate person is named to serve as the guardian of a minor child, estate planning for the ART client must also address new challenges associated with surrogacy, adoptions and parenting plans.  While a will, durable power of attorney, and healthcare power of attorney with advanced directive are all necessary documents in an effective estate plan, these documents become of greater importance to the ART client because the legal rights and obligations of the parties may not be as clearly defined.  Estate planning for the ART client permits the clients, to some extent, to define their own roles, relationships and obligations.  No two situations are ever the same; my role is to create a plan as efficiently and effectively as possible to meet the ART client’s needs and goals.   I’m committed to working with all my clients’ advisors to craft a plan, to address and plan for the unique needs of our ART clients.”
